Digital Retinal Imaging (DRI) is a scan that provides an image of the internal and anterior eye. The interior includes the retina, macula, optic nerve and vessels, and the anterior eye; the cornea, conjunctiva and eyelids.
These images allows your Optometrist to detect and monitor subtle changes in the eye between visits as well as monitor and manage specific eye conditions. Detecting changes in the eye early allows for a more comprehensive treatment plan to protect the eye.
The Optomap ultra wide field digital retinal imaging system takes only seconds to perform, does not typically require pupil dilation and gives a far wider view of the eyes’ retina than any other current retinal imaging system.
